Welcome to the teacher Home page for Emily Morales

I am so glad you stopped by my teacher page. This is the place where I will post announcements, lessons, schedules and labs for the Anatomy & Physiology class (for each weekly assignment, click on Weekly Updates button left).

Anatomy is the study of the human body, and physiology examines how all the parts of the human body function together to carry out the many processes of life. As an example, a lesson in anatomy may look at the structure of the heart, with its chambers, valves, arteries and veins, but physiology would answer the questions as to how it works as a pump to push blood and lymph throughout the human body.

It is my hope by the end of this class you will all see just what a miracle the human body is, and appreciate its brilliant design.

I currently live in lovely Loveland with my husband and sons, Steven and David, along with our two dogs - a chocolate lab named Walter, and a French bulldog named Bridget, and an ornery cat named Hugo.

While I have been teaching science to may grade levels over the past fourteen years, my principal learners have been high schoolers. I look forward once again to working with upper elementary level students!

My newest science interest is astronomy and cosmogeny (origins of the universe); I have known the handiwork of the Heavenly Engineer in the arena of the tiny, and now am enthralled observing His handiwork in the arena of the quite large. As one gets to appreciate an artist by studying their works, similarly, in studying the natural world one can revere and get to know the One who engineered an expanding universe - following predictable laws. This is what the very godly scientists such as Johannes Kepler, Robert Boyle, Isaac Newton, and Gregor Mendel (to name only a few) understood. To be a scientist in their day, was to do the Lord's work - now this is a calling I for one could not refuse!
