  • Instructional Design and Development of Course Materials
  • Teacher Training in Topics of Educational Psychology (Student Motivation, Cognitive Load), Apologetics, Development of Curricular Materials, Philosophy of Christian Education
Welcome to my website! I have a passion for teaching in, advocating for, and supporting instructors in Christian education. With the cry to take down national monuments, rebrandish American history, and the forced inculcation of a secular world-view in public education, it is more important than ever - for parents to preserve their Judeo-Christian values - that they rethink their children's education. In providing services in 1) instructional design, and, 2) teacher training, I seek to facilitate excellence in this holy endeavor!

Services

With my educational and experiential background, I am pleased to provide the following services for your Christian institution:

Instructional Design and Development
If you are a homeschool cooperative, an extension program, or private school, if there is a course you would like to see developed, I can help. Whether your concept is a six-week course in Drawing Realism, a semester-long class in Philosophy of Science, or a year-long program in Apologetics, I can develop your concept into a teachable/ marketable course.

To accomplish this, I start with an analysis of your learners, classroom/ budget constraints, and learning goals. From this preliminary analysis, I develop learning objectives which in turn inform the breakdown of the concept into units (or chapters), and then into properly sequenced, individual lesson plans. You can expect your final product to contain assessments in the form of unit exams and quizzes, hands-on projects or laboratories (if applicable), discussion points, technological learning tools, and presentation materials (slides, videos, artwork). Please refer to the Projects page for some samples of my work.

Teacher Training
Since homeschool cooperatives and extension programs often hire teachers who may be subject matter experts (nurses, writers, pastors) yet are not licensed or did not have the experience of coursework in a teacher's college, they often require training in pedagogy. Too often, I have heard from parents that while their child's teacher may be very knowledgeable, the teacher did not know how to teach - how to break the content down or explain concepts so the students could understand. Still other concerns raised involved the teacher not making the content relevant to the students, or simply overloading them with too much information.

To address these issues and still others, I offer training in 1) many topics of educational psychology (enhancing student motivation, minimizing cognitive overload, how students learn); 2) how to integrate a biblical world-view in any subject (Apologetics); 3) how to develop your own curriculum materials (such as techniques for writing exams, and effective presentation slides); 4) how to use the latest tools in technology; 5) writing the complete syllabus; and 6) philosophy of Christian Education.

"My interest in instructional design stemmed from the enigma I found myself  in: loving all fields of science and desiring to be a student of all those fields in perpetuity."
